- They are the guides of society, offering wisdom and clarity
- Their strength lies in knowledge, penance, and truth
- Must remain free from greed, anger, and arrogance
- Dedicated to teaching, spiritual practice, and preservation of Dharma

- Study and teaching of scriptures
- Performing and guiding rituals
- Leading through wisdom and counsel
- Practicing austerity, charity, and compassion
