सनात्मन् (Sanātman) = "The Eternal Self" & "One whose Self is eternal/constant".

The term "सनात्मन्" (Sanātman) is a compound Sanskrit construction, from:

1. सना (Sanā)

  • Derived from the root सन् (san), meaning primordial, perpetuity, or constancy.

2. आत्मन् (Ātman)

  • meaning the soul, or individual consciousness.

  • In classical Sanskrit (and Vedānta), आत्मा is the indwelling spirit, distinct from body and mind — nitya (eternal), shuddha (pure), buddha (conscious), and mukta (free) by nature.
